Unlocking the Future of Car Sharing with GO-CarShare

GO-CarShare, developed by Appvin and owned by Tekhsters, is an innovative and environmentally conscious car-sharing solution designed for B2B businesses, where businesses can easily register their vehicle and share it with their employees. This B2B solution guarantees that companies can optimize their fleet effectively and automatically. The standout feature of this system is the Keyless Monitor, which allows for remote setup, management, and operation of vehicles, including sending commands to lock or unlock them. 

The Challenge &

Problem Statement

Challenge 1- User Interface Design: One of the biggest challenges was the establishment of an easily navigable interface that could be appealing to users with various preferences. The design needed to balance simplicity and functionality to ensure usability for all employees.
Challenge 2- Trust and Safety: The GO-CarShare must be secured, and the consumers must develop the trust needed to ensure the platform will work as expected. Users had to be confident in the security of their accounts and in the authenticity and confidentiality of all messages exchanged within them.
Challenge 3- Integration with Existing Systems: One of the major problems was adapting GO-CarShare to the numerous types of existing fleet management systems employed by different companies. The operational integration of different platforms and smooth interconnectivity demanded complex technical solutions.
Challenge 4- Real-Time Vehicle Monitoring: Providing real-time updates on vehicle status and location was essential for efficient fleet management but presented a technical challenge due to the need for constant data transmission and processing.
Challenge 5- User Training and Onboarding: It was critical to ensure that the employees were aware of how the system worked by using GO-CarShare. The challenge lies in providing comprehensive training and support to a wide range of users with varying levels of technical expertise.

Solutions

To overcome the user and technical challenges, GO-CarShare adopted new strategies this includes, iterative design process, robust verification and rating system, API development for integration and other features like advance telemetry and GPS tracking, additionally, the project included comprehensive training programs.

Solution 1- Iterative Design Process: We implemented an iterative design approach, continuously gathering feedback from users to refine the interface. This allowed us to find and determine the necessary changes for the usability of the platform and, consequently, create an optimally designed platform that effectively meets users’ requirements.
Solution 2- Robust Verification and Rating System: To build credibility, we also implemented a strict identification check as well as a screening process. Further, a rating option was created to enable the users to contribute to the working reputation system based on their experiences.
Solution 3- API Development and Custom Integration: We designed an effective API that integrated with GO-CarShare and other fleet management solutions for effective connectivity. This allowed businesses to implement GO-CarShare to their means without impacting their existing systems significantly.
Solution 4- Advanced Telemetry and GPS Tracking: We incorporated advanced telemetry and GPS tracking technologies into the platform, enabling continuous real-time monitoring of vehicles. This feature provided businesses with accurate, up-to-the-minute information on their fleet.
Solution 5- Comprehensive Training Programs and Support Resources: We created detailed training programs and a wealth of support resources, including tutorials, user manuals, and 24/7 customer support. These resources assisted the users to become familiar with the platform within the shortest time possible hence reducing the purchasing risk.

Technical Stack

The app was developed using the following technologies
Mobile App: We used Flutter to build a cross-platform mobile app that works on any device.
Frontend: We used jQuery to build an intuitive single-page app user interface. 
Backend Development:  We chose Node js to create scalable and efficient backend services that handle high traffic.
Database: We utilized PostgreSQL to store data robustly and flexibly, accommodating a wide range of data types.

Outcome

GO-CarShare has increased fleet turnover, decreased emissions, and satisfied its employees. It improved management and efficiency of the fleet, provided measurable reductions in expenses, provided legal provisions on the environment and enhanced usage of the gadgets with high security.
